As i have mentioned in my proposal, I will be including recoreded interviews with the dance teachers. I will be asking them all the same questions, these are -
Question 1 – How long have you been dancing for?
Question 2- Did you take lessons or did you learn through observing others?
Question 3- Tell me a bit about the history of the dance and its origins?
Question 4- Why are specific movements used when the dance is performed?
Question 5- Are there certain occasions where this form of dance is performed?
Question 6- Do you think this dance is a good representation of the culture that it comes from?
Question 7 – Would you recommend people take up this dance as a good way to keep fit?
I think that including videos as well as written text will make my website more engaging for it's users. It will also differenciate it from the other websites which I have previosuly posted on my blog.
I found out that my university offers belly dance, bhangra, break dance and ballet classes. Therefore I may change my initial idea of having a page on irish dance, to a page on ballet. This will make my video recording more consistant and neater as they will all be students which are included in my target audience. I have bought a mini video recorder which uses an SD card for memory. I found this to be most useful as it will be easy to move the videos from the video camera to my computer. I have checked the timetable for the dance classes and tomorrow bhangra and breakdance will be taking place in the evening.
